Beauty: Fyrinnae # 2

I recently placed my second order from Fryinnae. I am a huge fan of Pixie Epoxy. I have two of their eyeshadows. This time I decided to try some new stuff.

I got some more Pixie Epoxy, because I lose the tube I have way to often. I also decided to buy some Velvet-Gel Silica Primer as well. It's a primer for your face.

I also picked up Steampunk, pyromantic erotica, faerie glamor, and got Medieval Haunting as my free sample. The first three are from the Arcane Magic set. This set is full of eye shadows that change hue in different light. What fun!

Since these shadows are sensitive to different types of light, I took my photos outside.
First row: Steampunk, pyromantic erotica
Second Row: faerie glamor, Medieval Haunting

Review: Hunger Games

For those who didn't know I love seeing movies at midnight. Everyone who is there is excited. Everyone is a little silly. People are more outwardly emotional about movie watching. As the lights dimmed in theater 1, I was excited to see what this movie would bring.
It was a lot slower than I thought it would be. It wasn't in a bad way. I just didn't expect it. (Check out the cast in this picture. Seeing them all so normal is a little disconcerting.) The over all look of the film is bright and intense.
Everyone let out an awww when Rue made her first appearance. Her character was portrayed perfectly. (I'm trying so hard not to give away anything.)
Over all the movie was very true to the book.  Which caused the group that I went with to let out a sigh of relief. Watching the movie, I realized how much is in the book. It was very good and if you like the books, this will not disappoint you.
Happy Hunger Games and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Blog Hiatus

You may have noticed I've not been posting at all. I have had really intense pharyngitis. If I have trouble eating then I probably shouldn't be blogging but rather sleeping.

Blog will resume Monday. ^_^

Review: Store: Teavana

Sorry for the lack of a post yesterday. I haven't been doing many crafts lately. I didn't really have anything to post.

Once I was having a conversation with a peer of mine in a getting to know you sort of way. I asked if he liked tea. He got excited and said YES! When I asked which kind he liked (green, oolong, white, herbal, etc.) he simple said "Uh, sweet tea."

Obviously we'd had a miscommunication.

I am a huge fan of blended loose leaf teas. If you don't know what that means please read on. There are a several different types of tea (made from different types of leaves for different flavors.) Lipton tea is a plain black tea. Chai is another type of black tea.

You can see on the label that it says black tea, honey, vanilla, and spices.

Now imagine the endless possibilities of blending different types of gourmet flavors with high quality tea.

mmmmmm Yummy.

That my friends is what Teavana does. It's a play on the word Nirvana.

Their photos let you know what is in the tea. This is a blend of two of their Chai flavors. You can see that it has cinnamon, pineapple, and many other things. The platter is what your tea will look like when you buy it.

If you think to yourself, why this is loose how to make it? They have that covered too.

The perfect tea maker! You add about 3 teaspoons of your tea, fill with hot water and about 5 minutes later sit it on top of a cup, pitcher, or teapot. It filters through the bottom as you can see in this picture.

If you've never had loose leaf tea, you have got to try this place. They have any flavor you can think of.

Today I am sipping on Cacao Mint Black. It's amazing!

I am quite the tea fiend. I don't always buy teavana, but they are one of my favorite companies. (Check out this photo of my coffee/tea shelf.) If you are unsure about tea think on this, some tea is healthier and more hydrating than water.

**I have never been paid any money or given gifts from Teavana. They just make awesome stuff.

Beauty: International Beauty Swap

Remember the Indie Style Box I posted about in December? After putting out the first box, the person doing it went missing and the people were pretty upset. On the facebook group someone mentioned putting together a international swap. Being the person that I was I said to my self, "Hey I could do that." I spent a few days organizing it and before I knew it I was sending my first box to a wonderful woman named Paula. I didn't take pictures of what I sent her but let me show you what she sent me!

I had quite the scare when my packaged had reached her and yet I hadn't seen anything from her a few days after that. I checked the tracking number and it said that the person who delivered it, left it near the front door. After much searching I finally found it tucked behind a snow shovel. It was the second day it had been there. Haha. I didn't get to open it till my lunch break. Sorry some of the pictures are dark. They were taken in my car.

It was wrapped in this lovely teal tissue paper. Teal is on the list of my top favorite colors.

She had put all of the makeup in this plastic bag to keep it safe. What a good idea!

Here is a picture of everything out of the bag. So much great stuff!!

I ooohed and ahhhhed as I took each piece out. This shimmer stix is from For Goodness Grape. It's a lovely pink that adds some shine to my lips. It was very smoothing. It was the first thing I pulled out and I immediately put it on. It was so lovely!

The next thing I pulled out was two different eyeliners. Although it's hard to tell one is copper and one is a dark purple. Both are made by NYX.

Then there was this brown paper tube with an eye on it. I had to know what it was.

It turned out to be another lovely lip product. This one is from Naked Eye Beauty. It has a slight orange taste, but it's not overpowering. It's smooth and also tints my lips a gorgeous coral color.

I've become quite the sucker for mascara. When I pulled out this Almay Intense i-color for green eyes I couldn't help but grin. It's called chocolate. I've tried one other brown mascara and loved it! I'm delighted to try this one.

This is just the best ever. It's roll on glitter. YAY! I love glitter and powdered glitter products can be a disaster! This stuff is awesome. The glitter is light and disperses just the right amount!

I wanted to see how everything looked so here it is swatched.

Top row: Purple NYX eyeliner, copper NYX eyeliner, chocolate mascara

Then some GLITTER!

Next row: Coral lip balm, For Goodness Grape shimmer stix
She also sent me some sweet treats. This is an amazing looking cookie. Pecans? *Swoon* Can't wait to bite into this!

Then there were these marshmallows. They are carmel & sea salt. (One of my favorite mixes!!!)

A friend/ co-worker that I am very close with recently lost somebody. The person was a good friend of her husband's and I know they were all close. She has been tough, but occasionally needs a good hug or treat to cheer her up. When I got back from dinner, I told her I got my box and was telling her about the different things that were in it. When I was telling her about the treats Paula had added, I decided they needed to be shared. I asked if she wanted to try one.

That little bag is stuffed full. The last shift is a pretty small shift so I was able to let everyone try one and still have about 10 left. I don't know how long they keep, but I'm about to go put one in some hot chocolate. :)

To top it off there was this cute thank you card in there.
Thank you Paula! Everything is perfect and will be put to good use!!

Photos: Picnic with Myself

Tuesday I had my first IT day. Something my job has added to the list of things they've taught me. (It's one of the reasons I LOVE where I work. I'm always learning!) It was uneventful. I got my own cubical and spent most of it watching progress bars. I answered ONE question, but I did it like a champ. The weather has been weird and it was quite lovely. I took my new (well new to me) car and picked up some food. As I was driving back I saw an empty church parking lot with a lovely view. I opened the hatch back and enjoyed some fresh air. It provided just enough shade and protected me from the intense wind.

There I sat, having lunch with Jesus.

Review: TV Show: Battlestar Galatica

This show is mind blowing. I'd heard it mentioned a million times. I'd mentally filed it with Star Trek, Stargate, and the many other sci-fi TV shows that held no interest for me.

Don't Do This.

This show is has an epic story line. I cried and became more attach to the characters than I ever would have expected. It's not generic, but rather intense. They develop each character so realistically that it really hurts when they are having a bad day.

There are plenty of plot twists and turns. There are also a few lulls in the story line.

The other thing you have to acknowledge is when Battlestar took place. This series wasn't too long after 9-11. They use insurgents for the names of the good guys and there is all sorts of cross overs between what goes on and what was was actually happening in the world.

It's all on netflix. Go watch it. Have you seen it? What's your opinion?

My Ceramic Pan

I recently bought this ceramic skillet.  I occasionally have to watch hours and hours of infomercials for my job and had heard them go on and on about ceramic. With my tax return money, I picked one up at my local kroger.

It works like a dream. When something cooks to the side. I can leave it there for several minutes and it will still wipe off clean.
This was my pan after cooking my salmon and orange sauce. Lots of cooked on sauce. I even let some of it burn on there and then I waited for it to dry on to the pan.
This was after I took a wet sponge and very gently wiped off the burned tried sauce!!!!

It's pretty much astounding. It's not non-stick coating so it won't chip. It's mega easy to clean and when my fish would burn to the bottom of the pan it will still slide right off of that spot.

Basically NOTHING will stick to this surface. it also heats pretty quickly and since I don' have to worry about burning stuff I can cook it pretty quick.
