Review: Movie: Limitless

A writer discovers a top-secret drug which bestows him with super human abilities.

Limitless is on Netflix instant view right now. I didn't quite know what to expect I was expecting some sort of Inception-esque quality to the film, a lot of 360 camera movements, and the slow down analysis in the style of the Sherlock Holmes (with Robert Downey Jr.)

That is not what I got.

I really liked this movie. The use of color is imaginative and it's hard to take your eyes away (says the girl who works on projects while watching movies).

When he takes the pill he sees himself in a sort of out of body experience. Rather than watch what he is doing all third person, he talks to the viewer and lets them know what was going on in his head. Very much like Fight Club. He is Jack's brain on drugs.

The movie had more and at the same time less plot than I expected. There were ladies in his life but it all seemed underplayed.

Overall it's a wonderful way to delve into this characters psyche for about 105 minutes.

Have you seen this? Did you like/ hate it? Why? What other movies should I check out?
