I get zits every once in a while, but I never seem to have stuff when I get a really bad one. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know how to pretreat one. I don't feel like most of the stuff I try works well enough that I can tell a difference.
I tried proactive in college and then the stuff I had in my basket in the community showers went missing (or I left it on the counter and it was thrown away.) It seem to really dry out my skin.
I've always just sucked it up and cover it up (on the days I really do my make up.)
Recently my mom and I went Christmas shopping. She loves Bare Minerals so we picked a mall that had one (and a teavanna.) All of it is way out of my price range, but my mom said to pick out one thing. As if we were in the toy aisle and I was 5 years old, I went on the search for the best use of my one item.
When finally I found something worth a try. It was the Blemish Therapy Set.
It comes with: Zippered White Bag, 2 brushes, Concealer, Blemish Remedy.
I was going to post pictures of how fast my zits were gone, but when I was going through them it just seemed really gross. Basically each was gone in about 3 days.
It's just powder. First I put on prime time and then I use the blemish remedy. It dries the zit but the skin around it is unaffected.
I've got to say I'm pretty impressed and my complexion looks clearer than ever.
It's defiantly worth a try.
What do you use for zits?

This little kit looks fabulous! My skin's pretty agreeable, but I'll get one fearsome monster zit from stress every now and then. It usually remains subdermal a couple days before it rears its ugly head. I like to use Acne Free's Terminator spot treatment for particularly stubborn ones. The Benzoyl Peroxide in the product tends to dry out skin, so I also use a Clean and Clear Moisturizer multiple times a day to keep it from getting too dry. I've recently switched from using Clean and Clear Deep Action Cream Cleanser to an Acne Free brand cleanser. It's also effective at keeping my skin fairly clear and blemish free.
