I have about a zillion hats (read: around 50). There never seems to be a good way to organize them. I have tried storing them by type or using hat boxes, but I never wear what I can't see. (That's why I'm not to fond of dressers.) In my never ending room switch I decided to go to the store and see what kind of hat racks they had. I was not impressed. Then I looked in the home improvement section and found these for $0.98. My crafty brain got to work. I picket up two sets of these,...
clothes pins (C-47 for you movie making folk), and some pretty ribbon for about $4, (the ribbon was $2).
The first thing I did was hook one of these bad boys on my door. I put the second one upside down on the bottom of my door.
Then I took my ribbon....
and cut about a two inch slit in it.
I then tied my ribbon on the hook on the top. I then let it hang and cut it off at the bottom of the door and tied it around that end to make it taunt.
If it's too loose it will flop around when you move the door.
Then you can use your clothes pin to clip your hat to the ribbon. Proudly displaying all your hats. I put mine on my closet door!
I remember this! What a cute and crafty way to declutter, Becca!
