Review: Chill

A new treat eatery (treatery??) has arrived in Southern Illinois. It's on the same strip as Pet Co and JoAnn Fabrics. Next to the Dollar Tree, you'll find Chill.

It's bright and colorful decorations may be distracting, but this Wonka type wonderland is no deception.

There are plenty of frozen yogurt flavors to choose from.

Each dispenser has two flavors that compliment each other and then a swirl of those two flavors. This one has Italian Espresso and Fudge Brownie Batter and swirled they make a chill-latte.

This was my bowl. Peanut butter (top), Italian espresso (bottom left), and oreo-yo (bottom right).

Andrew's was much more colorful.

Once you've decided on your frozen yogurt, then you must decide on toppings. These are the dry toppings and next to that in a whole section of cold toppings (including fruit and cookie dough). I didn't snap a photo of that.

There are many kinds of cereal toppings.

As well as candy toppings.

Then there are the fudge flavors.
So many choices.

You pay by weight so don't get too carried away.

For each cup (or waffle cone) you get a punch (on the card).

Very tasty!

But it also melts pretty fast.

Have you tried Chill? What did you think?

  1. Cute review! I really enjoyed Chill when I went, but it was SO busy. I find myself wondering when it might be the least packed with customers so I can go back and get some fro-yo when Chill is more chill. It's nice that they give you big cups to fill up, but I was glad to have chosen the cone so I didn't end up overdoing it on my serving. I think frozen yogurt in Carbondale is definitely a novelty, but I wish it was organized more like an ice cream shop (with the soft-serve behind counters) than a free for all. That said, I don't think the set-up will prevent me from going back! Though I AM excited to check out Cool Spoons.
